The Athearn Genesis release includes a shell based on the impressive Highliner model. DCC installation on the Genesis F-unit is easily performed with no soldering necessary. Digitrax 165AO DCC decoder is a drop-in replacement board that works well with the Genesis F-unit model. No resistors are needed with respect to the headlights, when the Digitrax 165AO DCC decoder is used. Removable plastic caps hold the wiring to the board, so soldering is not required. Simply remove the wiring; remove the factory installed board; replace with a Digitrax 165AO; and reconnect the wires in the same locations as they were originally and you're ready to roll.
